What distinguishes this business
A teddy-bear trim is not an option for a matted coat here
Mucky Pup's Oakland cat menu distinguishes coat maintenance from mat removal. Its $175 comb/teddy-bear cut leaves about half to three-quarters of an inch but is explicitly unavailable for tangled or matted cats. The $20 sanitary trim is an add-on requiring a Wash and Fluff, not a $20 standalone visit. The source describes a $250 severe-mat lion-cut appointment with a follow-up Wash and Fluff within four weeks included; the groomer assesses suitability and may refer a cat for veterinary handling.

A question worth settling
Is this maintenance grooming or a mat-removal appointment, and would the included follow-up apply?
A long-haired Wash and Fluff is listed at $125, making that package plus the sanitary add-on $145 before condition-related fees. Do not use the $175 teddy-bear price to budget for a matted cat. The site requests current rabies vaccination before scheduling; its homepage and older menu differ in wording about other species, so ask about the actual appointment setting.
