What distinguishes this business
Somerville's cat groom is a bath-and-brush service, not a lion cut
Stinky's Kittens & Doggies Too explicitly says it does not clip or shave cats or provide feline lion trims. Its cat service instead describes coat and temperament assessment, nails, eye and ear cleaning, brushing, bathing and drying according to the cat's tolerance. The broader matting policy contains clipping language, but that does not override the specific restriction on cat haircuts.

A question worth settling
Can the cat's coat be managed within your bath-and-brush service, and what happens to the charge if the work must stop?
The policy excludes severely matted pets and says service can stop with a charge for work already completed. Estimates are not final totals; the stated cat factors include coat, behavior and matting. Ask for an agreed spending limit and how additional work will be authorized rather than assuming a fixed quote. Cats must arrive in carriers with a current rabies record. If the goal is whole-body clipping, compare a provider that explicitly offers it instead of requesting a service this salon says it does not perform.
